Our Future at Salzburg Verkehr.
Of the total of 566 buses in the federal state of Salzburg, 365 operate in regional transport. Of the 201 buses on behalf of the city of Salzburg, 130 run as trolley buses.
Every day in the federal state of Salzburg, 74 local and regional trains are operated by Austrian federal railways (ÖBB), Salzburg local railway (SLB), Pinzgauer local railway (PLB) and Murtalbahn.
GPS points recorded per day
The data are recorded by the floating car data system of Salzburg Research and used in the calculation of the picture of the transport situation for Salzburg.
Around the clock, 64 counting stations record motor vehicles and cyclists on the roads and cycle paths of the city of Salzburg.
60 percent of the 436 kilometres of cycle paths in the city of Salzburg have been designated as “comfortable”, 30 percent as “usable” and only nine percent as “poor” (these nine percent incidentally also include all routes over listed cobblestones). One percent is not recorded.

New Projects for Mobility Solutions of the Future will Emerge from the Mobility Laboratory.
Mobility laboratory zukunftswege.at networks all the relevant stakeholders and helps them to develop their potential. New innovations should therefore be instigated, which make a central contribution to the intelligent organisation of passenger mobility in the urban and surrounding regions.

zukunftswege.at is a point of contact for citizens, experts and companies of any stakeholder groups to network and to raise their concerns in the mobility sector, or to become actively involved in the projects through customer journey and citizen participation processes.
The ideas submitted are disseminated via the mobility laboratory, so that various partners can get together on a new project.
On the one hand, existing mobility data can then be contributed through the mobility laboratory for these projects; on the other hand, test environments can be offered for trials of the systems and prototypes.
In all cases, the aim is to develop projects that can then ideally be adopted in a live system. With sustainable mobility solutions, the traffic problem in and around the city of Salzburg should therefore be gradually resolved.

Our research partners offer special services from their research developments. Business and industry can therefore use specific data for their projects, which are currently available only in our test environments.
Projects can test their prototypes and systems in real traffic, on defined roads, squares and stations. This should make the project results easier to transfer to real use.
