Project: SuCoLo
Promotion of sustainable consumer behavior through infrastructure for integrative bicycle logistics in urban suburbs
Peri-urban areas can be brought closer to the 15-minute city through the use of e-commerce and sustainable delivery and pick-up options. The aim of SuCoLo is therefore to create a solid conceptual, methodological and empirical understanding of how sustainable consumer behavior and integrative bicycle logistics can be used to promote net-zero goods deliveries and pick-ups in urban suburbs. Based on psychological models of behavior change, digital methods will be developed to motivate citizens to choose sustainable logistics options.
SuCoLo will use community-centered and data-driven planning approaches and simulation models to analyze the required infrastructure and needs of citizens, logistics providers and e-shops within a smart urban bicycle logistics ecosystem. Pick-up stations will also serve as social meeting points with a focus on accessibility and inclusion. The concepts identified will be tested in Salzburg, Leipzig and Merano using living lab methods in order to promote sustainable and inclusive goods logistics in peripheral urban areas.
